I am attempting to be kinder to myself- I have spent years and years punishing my body for “overeating” and “underexercising”, even if it were at the expense of my body and mind. Not surprising, my performance suffered. My mental health suffered as well.
Oh you skipped a run? Run five more miles and go to yoga this afternoon
Oh you overate? limit breakfast and work out harder at the gym
Oh you didn’t get off the couch yesterday? Don’t sit down todayd
Over the last 15 years my body has taken a toll. So, I am practicing self love. I’m allowing myself to rest when my body needs it. To eat more when my body needs nutrients. And to not punish myself for it. This mindset will take a long time to break but I know, in the end it will be worth it.
